Mrs. Fiorentina Bertolami, of Natick, formerly of Waltham, died on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. She was 85.
Fiorentina was born in Torino, Italy on March 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Carlo and Rosa (Revelli) Gamba. Following her marriage to Michele Bertolami in 1959 the pair immigrated to the United States, settling in Waltham.
Throughout her early years in the U.S., Fiorentina attended classes to learn how to speak English and worked hard to create a thriving new life with her family. Family was always at the center of everything, and she took great pride in her family life and in raising her children. She often volunteered her time at her children's elementary school as they were growing up, and she loved having opportunities to be with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and did seamstress work for friends and family as well as private clients. She had a passion for cooking and baking and she enjoyed sharing her home-made Italian recipes with her family. Baking pastries, cookies and sharing her culinary creations with her grandchildren during the holidays and at family gatherings was amongst one of her most cherished experiences.
In addition to her husband, Michele, she was predeceased by her sister, late Mariuccia Feltrin.
Fiorentina leaves her sons, Marco "John" Bertolami (Carol) of Waltham, Michael David Bertolami of Waltham, and Carl Steven Bertolami (Heather) of Wilton, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Kurtis, Kayla, Isabella, Leonardo, Dante and Zoe, her great grandson Neo; her brother, Sergio Gamba of Torino, Italy, and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Family and close friends will honor and remember Fiorentina's life by gathering at her Committal Service at 11 AM on Monday July 18th in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 250 High Street, Waltham. Entombment will follow.
