Waltham—Miss Evelyn A. Finneran, of Waltham, died on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in her home. She was 92.

Evelyn was born in Boston on May 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Francis D. and Jane M. (Burns) Finneran. Raised in Dorchester, she moved to Auburndale in 1952 and later to Waltham where she made her lifelong home. She had worked at the New England Telephone Company in the Prudential Center where she retired as a manager.

She always kept her mind busy; she loved completing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels. Evelyn also liked traveling to new places and was a devoted parishioner of Saint Charles and later Saint Mary's Church on School Street.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her siblings, the late Francis D., William J., and Mary T. Finneran.

She leaves her sisters and brother, Jane M. Gilmore of Braintree, Trudie A. Collins of Waltham, Robert A. Finneran of Waltham and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham on Thursday, September 23rd at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
