Waltham - Mrs. Eudora R. (Torres) Meighan, of Waltham, died Friday, March 30, 2012 in her home. She was 79.
Eudora was born in Belize City, Belize, on May 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Christopher and Ethel ( Munnings ) Torres. She moved to the United State in the mid 1960s. She had lived in New York City for many years before moving to Waltham where she stayed for a number of years and had worked at the Walter E. Fernald School. She then spent four years in Austin, Texas, before moving back to Waltham nine months ago.
She was the wife of the late Ernest Meighan and the mother of the late Garfield Meighan.
Eudora is survived by her children, Audrey Moss of Everett, Naomi Lopez of Waltham, Victor Meighan of Fairfax, VA., Ernestine Williams and Arlene Springer both of Austin TX, and Glenfield Meighan of Manchester, England; her sister, Isoline Crawford of Belize City, her grand children Garfield Jr., Cornell, Sean, Vernon, Rashead, Sylvester, Mark, Dwane, Travis, Eric, Tammy, Sherelle, Kimberly, Elizabeth, and Johnette; her great-grandchildren, Karlysha, Joseph, Jacob, Khadia, Aaliyah, Ronald III, Rasheed, Terez, Alaysia, Sade, Kamryn, Jaidelyn, Logan and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Eudora's life by gathering for a memorial service in Austin, Texas. Saturday June 9th 2012 ; 11:00AM at South Austin Church of the Nazarene.
