Eric L. Nardone, of Newton, died at home on Friday, October 23, 2026. He was 61.
Born in Newton on August 27, 1965, Eric was the beloved son of the late Edmund and Mary (Farina) Nardone.
A lifelong resident of Newton, Eric was a graduate of Newton North High School and attended Mass Bay Community College. A knowledgeable car and truck enthusiast, Eric worked as a mechanic at Main St. Ford in Waltham, and as a carpenter at Waltham Hospital.
Eric is survived by his sister Karen Nardone-Lemons and her husband Terry, his brother Mark Nardone, nephews Christopher Nardone, and Michael Lemons and his partner Caitlin, nieces and godchildren Isabella Nardone, and Aubree Lemons and her husband Nick, and his grandniece Lily. He is also survived by a large and loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins, his caregiver and best friend Jackie Fritz, and close friend Jose Correia.
An avid Boston sports fan, Eric especially loved the New England Patriots and attending games. Eric loved karaoke and singing his signature song Soul Man. He looked forward to the annual Farina Family ravioli making party each year. Eric traveled to many schools during prom season to present his program “It will never happen to me….Eric’s Story”, the journey of healing from the life-changing and near fatal injuries he sustained from a drunk driver more than 38 years ago.
Eric loved bringing joy to others. Eric was very involved with the Boys and Girls Club “down The Lake” in Newton. He spent many hours volunteering and supervising in the gym and the game room and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Valentine’s Day was his favorite holiday which he celebrated by delivering hundreds of carnations to the Newton Senior Center and Library, his friends at Dunkin Donuts, nurses at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and neighbors in his building. He had a gift for making new friends wherever he went and always had a hug and a smile for everyone he met.
