Ellen J. (McShane) McDonald

Waltham – Mrs. Ellen J. (McShane) McDonald, of Waltham, formerly of Watertown, died Friday, July 16, 2021 at her home. She was 90.

Ellen was born in Waltham on October 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Francis X. and Ethel Jane (Morrissey) McShane, and was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham.

Following her marriage to Ray McDonald the couple made Watertown their home where they raised their children. They were longtime parishioners at Saint Patrick's Church in Watertown.

Until her retirement Ellen worked as a credit manager for Nationwide Cellular in Waltham and before that worked for more than twenty-five years at Unitrode in Watertown.

The wife of the late Raymond J. McDonald, Jr. she leaves her daughter, Ellen Jane Albanese and her husband, Robert of Waltham.

Ellen was also the mother of the late Raymond J. McDonald, III and sister of the late Frank, James and Ethel Ann McShane.

Family and friends will honor and remember Ellen's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday morning, July 20th from 9 to 10 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
