Elizabeth M. 'Betsy' Rhodes

Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Rhodes, 75, of Madison, Alabama, formerly of Waltham, MA passed away on June 8, 2025.

Betsy grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts graduating from Waltham High School in 1967 and she moved to Madison in 2006. She also spent many summers at Little Neck, Ipswich.

She pursued several careers to include a dental assistant, data coding and finishing with a career in retail before retiring from Kroger.

Betsy had a gentle heart and a special love for animals—her pets were her babies, and she cared for them with deep affection. She was also a devoted fan of General Hospital, never missing an episode and following the characters’ stories with enthusiasm and loyalty.

Betsy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Rhodes, of Waltham, Massachusetts, brothers William (Brenda), Thomas (Stephanie, Shirley((deceased), and Philip (Kathleen).

She is survived by her brother Daniel (Phyllis) and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Betsy will be remembered for her quiet strength, loving nature, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Betsy’s life on Thursday, July 10th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham, for a Morning Wake from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
