May 21, 1938 — October 19, 2025

Waltham, MA

Waltham - Eileen Mary (Robichaud) Wright passed away peacefully on October 19, at her home surrounded by family after a long illness . Eileen’s strength and grace through her journey will continue to inspire all who have known and loved her.

Born in Gardner MA on May 21, 1938, Eileen was the daughter of the late Ephraim and Madeline (Martin) Robichaud. She grew up in Athol and attended Athol High School where she excelled academically and was part of the student council, theater group, and played basketball.

After graduating High School in 1955, Eileen attended Fitchburg Teachers College where she was accepted into her beloved Delta phi Delta sorority and made lifelong friends .

After earning a Bachelor's degree in Education, Eileen taught high school English in Connecticut, and during summer break she enjoyed working on Cape Cod . At a University of Massachusetts Amherst football game, Eileen met her best friend and love of her life Richard "Dick” Wright. They were married in 1962 and settled in Waltham. Eileen put teaching on hold to raise her four sons. As her family grew older, Eileen's passion for teaching was rekindled. She taught in the Waltham and Belmont school systems for many years, retiring in 2012.

Eileen and Dick enjoyed traveling to Florida and the Caribbean islands. They loved Cape Cod and enjoyed many summers there with family at their cottage in West Dennis. Eileen enjoyed playing bridge and was part of a bridge club. She was a sports fan and avid reader of historically oriented books. Most of all, Eileen adored her three grandchildren and was quite proud of them.

The Wright family thanks the extraordinary and devoted caregivers who surrounded Eileen with kindness and compassion, while providing comfort not only to Eileen, but her entire family.

Eileen is predeceased by her beloved husband Dick. Eileen leaves her four sons, Richard of Plymouth, MA, Jeffrey, and his son, Viktor of Plymouth MA, Martin Wright of Waltham, MA, and Steven, his wife Cindy, and their daughter, Kennedy and son, Trent of North Chelmsford, MA.
