Edwin C. Powell

Mr. Edwin C. Powell, of Norfolk, formerly of Waltham and Watertown, died at home on Monday, November 1, 2021. He was 81.



Ed was born February 8, 1940 in Cambridge son of the late Garland and Phyllis (Headberg) Powell. He was a graduate of Lexington High School. He married Waltham native Marilyn F. Sampson on December 1, 1973. They lived many years in Watertown and Waltham. Marilyn died March 19, 2015.

He spent his career working as a machinist. Upon retirement he then enjoyed driving a school bus for JSC Transportation of Waltham.

An avid Patriots fan he loved watching the game with his boys and other family and friends. He will be remembered as a humble and kind gentleman.

He leaves his children, Sandra D. Faulkenberry (Darrell) of Billerica, Cheryl A. Morgan of Lancaster, South Carolina, Edwin C. Powell Jr. (Keith Rogers) of Kansas City, Missouri, Stephen B. Guerra of San Diego, California, Brian E. Powell (Laura) of Marlborough, and Matthew E. Powell (Vanessa) of Norfolk; his grandchildren, Crystal Carpenter (Benn), Lindsay Hannah (Justin), Jeremy and Brandon Morgan, Gianna Fox (Jon) and Gillian Guerra; his great-grandchildren, Roxanna and Ryler; his sisters, Frances LaFlamme and Diane Finney; nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Edwin's life by gathering on Monday, November 8th in Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham where his graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. There are no calling hours.
