Edward J. Quirk, Jr.

May 20, 1943 — June 5, 2025

Flowery Branch, Georgia

We celebrate the life of Edward John Quirk Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother and son whose infectious spirit and generous heart touched so many. Edward John Quirk Jr. of Flowery Branch, Georgia passed away June 5, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born May 20,1943 to Edward J. Quirk Sr. and Phyllis McCray Quirk.

Born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, Ed grew up alongside his parents, sister, and two brothers. It was in the Lakeview neighborhood where he formed the lifelong friendships that would shape his life and endure through the years. The streets of Lakeview were the backdrop to countless adventures and innocent mischief- a childhood filled with laughter, curiosity, and bonds that would last a lifetime.

Ed was a successful business owner, best known as the founder of the well-known gutter company in Atlanta, Georgia - The Gutterman. Later in life, he expanded his entrepreneurial pursuits by acquiring several commercial warehouse properties, continuing his legacy as a dedicated and accomplished businessman. He was the most honest and noble man- guided by integrity, led by example, and respected by all who knew him. His word was his bond, and his actions reflected a heart full of strength, purpose and compassion.

Ed was the beloved husband of Patricia, his steadfast partner and the love of his life for 43 years. Together, they shared a deep bond and a love for antique car tours and traveling- but what they treasured most were the Sunday drives in one of his old cars, always in search of the best diners, whether nearby or miles away. Distance was never a concern to Ed- even in an antique. These simple yet meaningful outings were cherished moments with family. He was the proud father of Stephanie L. Quirk (Love Bug) and Edward John Quirk III. His children were the center of his world. For Ed, family was everything. He was, in every sense, the truest family man.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughter, Stephanie; his son, Eddie; his brothers, James Quirk (Mary Jane) and Bill Quirk (Carolyn); and his sister, Pamela Quirk Allen. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Bob Fryer; his sisters-in-law, Ginny Fryer Clanton and Nancy Fryer Sully (Herbie); as well as several adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Quirk Sr.; his wife, Mary Quirk and his mother, Phyllis Quirk.

A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held to honor Ed on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 1pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 6439 Spout Springs Road., Flowery Branch, Georgia. 30542. Per Ed’s wishes’ his ashes will be spread in Nova Scotia at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed may be made to “Just” People, Inc. 1412 Oakbrook Dr. Norcross, GA 30093 or to the American Heart Association 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE #400, Atlanta, GA 30328
