It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Notosoehardjo, who departed this world peacefully at the age of 46, surrounded by his loved ones. After a courageous seven plus -month battle following a brainstem stroke, Ed leaves behind a legacy defined by love, generosity, and kindness.
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Ed began an extraordinary journey at the age of 13 when he moved to the United States to attend Concord Academy boarding school. His passion for learning led him to Boston University, where he graduated with high honors, earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Ed’s professional career began at GE Aerospace Engineering and later expanded into entrepreneurship with the co-founding of a successful food import business, launching brands such as Tasty Thai and Danielle fruit chips. Most recently, he served as a logistics and procurement consultant for companies including Materion and Senior Metal Bellows.
Above all, Ed was a devoted father to his beloved sons, Erik (20) and Lucas (10). A kid at heart, he was an avid toy collector and a passionate fan of Star Wars and Marvel comics. Known as the “cool dad,” Ed built imaginative dioramas, played side-by-side with his boys, and shared his creativity with a wide audience through his YouTube channel, The BudgetJedi, which brought joy to hundreds of thousands of fans. In his community, his playful and outgoing spirit and generous heart earned him the affectionate title of “neighborhood mayor.”
Ed was also a loving husband to Jennifer, who was drawn to his wit, humor, warmth, and deeply giving nature. He had a true gift for making others feel seen and valued, always taking the time to connect on a personal level. His laughter, kindness, and big-hearted presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; sons, Erik and Lucas; his mother, Myra; sister, Tina; brother-in-law, Jeff; niece, Sophia; and nephew, Jackson.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the light he brought into our lives and the love he so freely gave. In honor of Ed’s memory, we invite all who knew him to carry forward his legacy by embracing kindness, nurturing meaningful connections, and finding delight in the simple things in life. Ed will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
