Waltham – Mr. Edward J. Lupinski, Sr. of Waltham, went to his eternal rest on Sunday, November 20th, 2016 at his home after a brief illness. He was 86.
Ed was born and raised in Pennsylvania but had lived in Waltham for over 62 years. As a youth, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. When his sons were young he enjoyed coaching their Little Nippers baseball teams. He worked hard to provide for his family and retired from Raytheon in Bedford after more than 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a member of the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed painting, bowling, golfing and doing work around the house.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alice M. (Brady) Lupinski; his children, Cheryl Lupinski, Edward Lupinski, Jr., Robert Lupinski, Chris Lupinski and his fiancé, Kim Ornstein, and Scot Lupinski and his wife Margaret; his grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Samantha, Jason, Jackie and Laura; his brother, Richard Lupinski; his brother-in-law, Paul Brady, Sr.; his former daughter-in-law Stephanie and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was also the son of the late Stanley and Albina (Lulis) Lupinski and brother of the late Delores O'Conell and Chester, Stanley and Francis Lupinski.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ed's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, November 27th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and again at 9:00 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
