Edward C. Logue

Waltham - Mr. Edward C. Logue, Sr. of Waltham died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 72. Born in Boston, he lived in Jamaica Plain before moving to Waltham 48 years ago. Until his retirement, Mr. Logue worked as the distribution manager for Sweetheart Plastics Company. Before that he worked for Delta Air Lines. A devoted family man, Mr. Logue was involved for many years with various sports activities in Waltham. During the Korean War Mr. Logue served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 in Waltham. He leaves his wife, Margaret M. (Forster) Logue; his children, Edward C. Logue, Jr. and his wife Susan of Chesterfield, MO, William J. Logue and his wife Debra of Germantown, TN, Judith E. Weeks, Janet M. Monaghan and her husband Michael, Suzanne DiStasio and her husband Mark, Paul J. Logue and his wife Marcine and John J. Logue and his wife Pamela, all of Waltham; his father, Edward Logue of Mansfield; his sisters, Eleanor Tedesco of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathleen Fennell of Mansfield, Ann Marie Patterson of Roslindale and Maureen Spognardi of Norwood; 17 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the son of the late Catherine (Coyne) Logue and brother of the late Margaret Reardon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 20th, from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations in Ed's memory to Waltham Athletic Scholarship Fund, c/o John Graceffa, Waltham High School, 617 Lexington Street, Waltham, MA 02452 would be appreciated.
