Edward O. Kershaw

February 24, 1932 — October 25, 2026

Natick, MA

Mr. Edward O. Kershaw of Natick, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Benchmark Senior Living at North Andover. He was 94.

Born in Waltham on February 24, 1932, he was a son of the late Edward Kershaw and Jeanne (LeBlanc) Craven. He was raised in Waltham and attended the vocational high school. He served in the United States Navy.

Edward worked at Raytheon for many years before joining the Waltham Fire Department, from which he retired in 1980 after 18 years of service. Often working two jobs, he was a loving dad and a good provider for his family. Following his retirement he and his wife Myrtle moved to Natick, and together they traveled to more than 44 states and spent many happy days camping throughout New England in their travel trailer. He enjoyed crosswords and a good game of cribbage, kept a close eye on his gas mileage, and could always find his way by map, never a GPS.

Strong and steady, he was a man of few words but firm convictions, and you always knew where he stood. He helped raise a granddaughter under his roof, and the lessons he passed down in discipline, thrift and standing your ground, along with the classical music in the pickup and the red Lindt chocolates, will stay with his family always.

He was the beloved husband of the late Myrtle R. (McGuigan) Kershaw, who died in 2009. He leaves his son Edward "Eddie" Kershaw of Townsend; his daughters Deborah E. Herring of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Linda Wojtkun and her husband Paul of Largo, Florida, Judy A. Sheehan and her husband Tom of Atkinson, New Hampshire, and Sandra K. McLaughlin and her husband Kevin of Salem, New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and remember Edward's life by gathering for a graveside service at Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham, on Wednesday, October 28 at 1 p.m.
