Donna M. (Whalen) Wilson

Donna M. (Whalen) Wilson, of Waltham, died Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham following a period of declining health. She was 80.

Donna was born in Boston on May 9, 1946, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Dorothy C. (Poirier) Whalen. Raised in Waltham, she was a 1964 graduate of Waltham High School.

She worked as the administrative assistant for the president of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts and later held the same position at Stone & Webster in Marietta, Georgia where she and her husband, Paul, lived for a number of years.

Donna enjoyed her work and cherished the friendships that she made. She kept a meticulous home where her pup, Gabe, was her constant companion. Time spent at the beach and listening to the hits of the ‘50’s, especially Elvis, were lifetime passions.

The wife of the late Paul J. Wilson, she leaves her sisters and brothers, Joan Whelan (William) of Merritt Island, Florida, Marguerite ‘Peggy’ Marrano (Steve) of Wilmington, Dorothy DuBois (Arthur) of Sudbury, Michael Whalen (Linda) of Waltham and John Whalen of Hudson. Donna was also he beloved “Auntie” to her nephew, eight nieces, and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember Donna's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20) Waltham on Monday, August 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
