David Yorito Towle

Life and Legacy

David Yorito Towle, 72, of Waltham, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 18, 2026, in hospice care at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He was born on February 15, 1954, in Troy, NY to Anne Umeko Ono Towle and Bertram MacKay Towle.

David grew up in Boston and graduated from Copley Square High School in 1972. David played bass and lead guitar in various musical bands performing throughout the Northeastbefore going on to complete training in IT and computer service, working for Digital and retiring from RetroFit Technologies.

David will be remembered for his infectious laugh, love of family and love of music. He especially enjoyed spending time in the pool with his grandchildren, watching the Patriots, sharing a good meal and he loved his coffee. He was immeasurably proud to be Oji to Jillian and Jamison.

Family

David is survived by his son Justin Towle and his partner Danielle Doucette, his grandchildren Jillian and Jamison Towleand their mother Rhonda Leiphart; his former wife and best friend Jennifer Towle; his sisters Verna (Rick) Miller, Cynthia (Tom) Spence, his brother Jonathan (Christine) Towle; his sister-in-law Iris DuPont and her husband Gerard Hurley; his brothers-in-law Kevin (Gail) Morrissey, Jeff (Diana) Morrissey, and David Morrissey; his Uncle Hiroshi Ono, Aunts Betty Binghamand Sekiko Murata, cousin Kurt Bingham; nieces and nephewsas well as cousins in Japan and Switzerland, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Dawn (Lisa Lee); brothers-in-law Robert Burrows and Richard Miller;Uncles William Bingham, and Yujiro Murata; Aunts Noriko Onoand Barbara Towle.

Services 

A visitation with cremains will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 12 Noon to 2:00PM. A celebration of life will follow at 2PM at Joyce Funeral Home 245 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02453.
