David J. Thambash

Mr. David J. Thambash, of Sandwich, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, July 7, 2022. He was 60.

David was born in Waltham on July 29, 1961, a son of the late John J. and Mildred J. (Sears) Thambash and was a graduate of Waltham High School.

He worked for years as a heavy equipment operator for R.J. Cincotta Company and for Antico Excavating.

David was an avid outdoorsman, a trait he passed along to his two sons, Ryan and Brandon, and loved taking camping trips with them. He also enjoyed saltwater fishing in the Cape Cod Canal and watching sports. In addition David was a longtime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4.

David leaves his sons, Brandon Taranto of Merrimack, New Hampshire and CPL Ryan D. Thambash, USA of Fayetteville, North Carolina; his granddaughter, Ava R. Cross; his siblings, Christine A. Gately of Sandwich, John R. Thambash of Woburn, Deborah E. Cardillo of Waltham, and Joan M. McGinnes of Norwood and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember David's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, July 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again Saturday morning when his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
