Mr. David C. MacDonald, of Maynard, formerly of Waltham, New Hampshire and North Carolina, died Monday, May 1, 2023 in Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was 57.
David was born on July 12, 1965 in Medford a son of the late Dr. Bernard and Marjorie (Saurman) MacDonald. Raised in Waltham he was a graduate of Waltham High School with the class of 1983. David lived many years in Waltham, over twenty years in Milford, New Hampshire and later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. He returned to Massachusetts living in Wilmington and later Maynard.
He worked in shipping and receiving for many years at Kodak Corporation and later for the Operations Proposal Group at BAE Systems in Merrimack, New Hampshire as Senior Purchasing Agent.
Dave loved music! He played bass guitar in various bands in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. A loyal Red Sox fan he loved being able to attend games at Fenway Park and always enjoyed the company of his friends. He loved concerts, the arts and various genres of culture.
He leaves his daughter, Amanda L. Wells and her husband, Brent of Millis; his grandchildren, Charlie and Maggie Wells; his brothers, Lawrence 'Scott' MacDonald of Falmouth, James 'Jamie' MacDonald of Hollywood, Florida, and the late Brian MacDonald; his sister-in-law of Susan Cox-MacDonald of Plymouth; his nieces and nephew, Aubrey, Alysha and Jared MacDonald; and close friend, Rocco Abbondanzio of Hanover.
Family and friends will honor and remember David's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 12th from 4 to 7 p.m.
David's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13th in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
