Corinne E. Brennan

November 3, 1949 — July 2, 2025

Roslindale, MA

Roslindale – Ms. Corinne E. Brennan peacefully died at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 after a journey with glioblastoma since July 2024. She was 75 years old.

Corinne was born on November 3, 1949 in Boston, a daughter of the late Henry E. and Mary K. (Lynsky) Brennan. After spending her first years in Roslindale, her family then moved to Weymouth where she graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Corinne later earned her Bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and her Master’s degree in Education from Suffolk University.

In 1978 she moved to Western Massachusetts, settling in Hadley where she lived for over 30 years. She returned to her native Roslindale in 2018 and enjoyed sharing a two-family home with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She adored the welcome role of “Gigi” to her two grandchildren.

She worked at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for the bulk of her professional career, first in Financial Aid and later in Disability Services. After retiring from UMass, she worked at the Mainstream Center at Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, retiring in 2013.

Corinne loved to travel as well as work in the yard and her gardens. She was a longtime communicant of the Children of God Springfield chapter of the International Catholic Deaf Association (ICDA). She served as a member of various groups and organizations, including as a School Board Member for the Town of Hadley, a retreat planning board member for the A.G. Bell group, and was a communicant of Saint Jude’s Parish in Waltham.

She leaves her son Andrew C. Doré and daughter-in-law, Katelyn; her grandchildren, Gilbert and Eloise, all of Roslindale; her brother, Mark Stephen Brennan and sister-in-law, Nancy, of Weymouth; her cousin who she considered an honorary sister, Karen Besarick of Pembroke; along with many other cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Family and friends will honor and remember Corinne's life by gathering for an Evening Wake on Monday, July 14 from 4 to 7 pm at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 15 at Saint Jude’s Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Interment in New Calvary Cemetery in Boston is private.
