Mr. Charles F. Woods Sr. of Arlington, MA passed away on Sunday February 11, 2024. He was 87.
 
Charles, lovingly known as ‘Charlie’ to family and friends, was born November 11, 1936 in Chelsea, Michigan a son of the late Glenn C. and Agnes (Smith) Woods. He was raised in Waltham and a graduate of Waltham High School Class of 1954. He later earned his Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in 1976. He married Elizabeth M. Santolucito at Sacred Heart Church on January 24, 1959 and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary!
 
His professional career began in banking at the former Waltham Federal Savings Bank and Citizens National Bank. He then worked over 30 years as a business administrator for MITRE Corporation in Bedford MA before retiring.
 
His faith and family remained the center of his life. A devout Catholic he belonged to Saint James Church in Arlington and later worshipped at Sacred Heart in Lexington where he served as a Eucharistic minister. His days ended with the rosary and a grateful heart for his blessings.
 
Charlie loved cooking, baking and making fabulous breads. He had a natural green thumb and enjoyed gardening, and was always up for a game of cards with family.
 
 In addition to his wife of 65 years, Betty, he leaves his children Elizabeth M. Anderson (late husband Allan) of Waltham, Charles F. Woods Jr. (wife Maria) of Burlington, David P. Woods (wife Wendy) of Burlington and Mary Ann Woods (late husband Robert Freeman) of Arlington. Loving Grandfather of Allan, Ryan and Kevin Anderson, Lauren Ellis (husband William), Mark Woods (Emily Dalton), Nicole and Andrew Woods, Corey, Miranda, Christian and Ella Woods, Josh Freeman; His great-grandsons Jordan and Domenic Woods; Brother of predeceased Elizabeth Ryan (husband Joseph), Barbara Hamm (husband Victor), Leonard Woods, George Woods (wife Alice), John Woods (wife Marilyn) and survived by many loving nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
