Charles David Keegan

Charles David (Dave) Keegan, Junior, of Stoughton passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2025.

Dave was born April 27, 1953 in Janesville, Wisconsin and was baptized as Charles David Keegan, Jr. His preference was to be known simply as Dave.

Dave was predeceased by his mother Anne and his father Charles Senior. He was the oldest child in the family and is survived by his sister Kathleen and brothers John, Andrew, William, Thomas and Michael. In addition, he leaves behind a large extended family including many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

They and all who knew him will miss Dave’s silly side, his ready puns and his countless jokes. They also will miss his dogged pursuit of his own goals and interests. Dave was a history buff with a special interest in the American Civil War. At one point as a young man, he sported mutton chop sideburns. For many years he operated a cleaning business that gave him great satisfaction to be an independent operator.

Dave’s family is eternally grateful to the medical practitioners who helped Dave maintain a successful life and positive attitude. In addition, there are many in the Stoughton community who made Dave’s life richer and more pleasant by their association with him. Most especially the assistance of Victoria at the Housing Authority was immeasurably helpful.

Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.

A private family memorial service will be held.
