Waltham – Cecelia Ann (Panella) Olsen died Monday, November 17, 2025 in Marist Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. She was 100.
Cecelia was born on January 31, 1925 in Newton a daughter of the late Leonardo and Cecelia A. (Capello) Panella. Raised in Newton she graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1942. She married Henry “Hank” C. Olsen in June of 1954.
She worked for a time at Raytheon Corporation and later as a waitress at Ritcey’s Seafood Kitchen in Waltham for over ten years.
Her hobbies and interests included sewing, needlecraft, reading and gardening.
In addition to her beloved husband, Hank, she was predeceased by her siblings, Clementina Gattiker, Jennie Gangi, Leonard Panella and Olympia Walker. She leaves many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Cecelia’s life by gathering on Saturday, December 6th in Sacred Heart, 770 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne is is Tuesday, December 9th at 10:15 a.m. There are no calling hours.
