Beverly A. (Tallo) Shea

Beverly Ann Shea, age 75, of Waltham, passed away at home on Thursday, September 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in Newton, Beverly was the daughter of the late Frank and Viola Tallo. She was predeceased by her beloved sisters, Sandra (Paul) D’Agostino and Carol (Joseph) Antonellis.

Beverly shared her life with her husband, Michael Shea, and was the devoted mother of Brian Shea and Mary (David) Wenham. Among her greatest joys were her grandsons, Henry and Samuel Wenham. Beverly devoted much of her life to caring for her family. She had a fulfilling career working for Kramer Electronics and Honeywell, and stepped away from the workforce to raise her children and, years later, once again happily took on a caregiving role in the lives of her grandchildren.

Her instinct to care for others extended far beyond her own family. Beverly gave generously of her time and energy to her church and community throughout her life. She served as a trainer for Voice of the Faithful, volunteered with the St. Mary’s after-school program, and most recently served as President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Through her work with St. Vincent de Paul, Beverly dedicated herself to helping people in her community during some of their most difficult moments. The work was deeply meaningful to her and brought many dear friends into her life.

Beverly was also a voracious reader. She always had a book nearby—and, just as often, a great recommendation ready for someone else. Her love of reading was one of the many things she enjoyed sharing with those around her.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Beverly is survived by her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Paula (Joseph) Vizard, Maureen (James) Dowse, Carol Copan, Kevin (Angelic) Shea, Brenda (Edward) MacGovern, Thomas (Michele) Shea, Mary Shea Rogers, and Kathleen (Frank) Montesanti. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Beverly's life was one devoted to caring for others - both family and her community. She will be remembered for her selflessness and generosity.

Family and friends will honor and remember Beverly’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, September 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be at a later date.
