Beverly E. (Lyons) Mullen

Mrs. Beverly E. (Lyons) Mullen, of Onset, formerly of Waltham died at Artis Senior Living in Lexington on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was 89.

Beverly was born on February 27, 1933 in Braintree a daughter of the late John P. and Marjorie (Withe) Lyons. A graduate of Braintree High School she married Richard A. Mullen while he was serving with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. They moved to Waltham in 1966 and thirty years later they retired to Onset. Bev later returned to Waltham in 2017. Richard died September 18, 2009.

Bev, as she was lovingly known, worked as the accounts payable coordinator for Ark-Wright | Boston Mutual Insurance Company for many years before retiring in 1994.

She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and enjoyed being able to participate in the Mass via Boston Catholic Television. Bev loved the sunrises and sunsets on the beach in Onset and indulged her passion for ice-cream.

In addition to her husband, Dick, she is predeceased by her son, James R. Mullen and siblings, John F., Thomas and Eddie Lyons, Janice Babcock and Marjorie Smith.

She leaves her children, Lenore M. Walker (John) of South Padre Island, Texas, Chet A. Mullen (Janese) of Chenango Forks, New York and Paula J. Logan (Robert) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker (David Escobar), John Walker (Megumi), Sara Walker (Zachary Wise), Steven Mullen, Jennifer Mullen (Tony Sheppard), Robert Logan, Mary Logan, Ross Logan (Mollie), Patricia Logan, Nicholas Mullen and James 'Jake' Mullen (Alison Bressler); her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Issac, Emma Grace, Rebecca and John David and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Beverly's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, July 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 370 Boston Post Road, Weston where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45 p.m.
