Beverly A. (Saunders) McAndrews

December 17, 1946 — June 26, 2025

Waltham

Beverly A. (Saunders) McAndrews, of Waltham formerly of West Yarmouth, passed away on June 26, 2025, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 78 years old.

Born in Newton on December 17, 1946, Beverly was the daughter of the late Theodore and Doris (Devlin) Saunders. She grew up in Newton, and along with her husband, John R. McAndrews, made a loving home in West Newton, where they raised their family for many years before moving to West Yarmouth two decades ago. After the passing of her husband in 2017, Beverly moved back north, to Waltham.

She worked for many years at CVS both in West Newton and Yarmouth. In addition to CVS, Beverly dedicated many years of her life serving alongside her husband at Saint Bernard’s Church in West Newton. Beverly was the caretaker preparing meals for the clergy and ensuring the upkeep of the facilities.

In their earlier years, Beverly and John enjoyed taking their children on camping trips to Maine, where they made many happy memories. A devoted mother and friend, her faith and family were the cornerstones of her life. Beverly had a natural gift for caring for others, always going above and beyond to support those who needed her help.

An active and social individual, Beverly enjoyed engaging with friends in various activities. Whether it was candlepin bowling in her league in Woburn, attending the French club, playing cards at the senior center, or enjoying games at casinos, you’d always have a laugh with Beverly.

In addition to her husband, John, Beverly was also predeceased by her son, Gregory A. McAndrews, and her siblings, Stephen, Edward, Theodore, and Sherman Saunders.

She leaves her children, Melissa A. Erba and her husband, Brian, of Waltham, Gary E. McAndrews, of Southborough, and John R. McAndrews of Foxborough; her grandchildren, Jillian and Morgan Erba; her siblings, Mary Masterson of Waltham, Michael Saunders of Wakefield, Michelle Saunders of Utica, New York, and Robert Saunders of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Beverly's life by gathering for a Morning Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, July 7th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and will conclude with a memorial service at 12 noon.
