Barbara L. Hinckley-Alcorn

Upton – Mrs. Barbara L. Hinckley-Alcorn, of Upton, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, August 23, 2021 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 67.

Barbara was born in Waltham on September 24, 1953, the daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Crowley) Hinckley. She was a 1971 graduate of Waltham High School and went on to work for more than twenty-five years at ADP Payroll Services in Waltham.

One of her happiest days came on September 13, 1975 when she married the love of her life, Harry Alcorn in Saint Jude Church. The pair made Waltham their home until a move last fall brought them to Upton.

Barbara was a wonderful, warm, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved baking, painting, and made many happy memories with her family at Long Beach in Nahant. She maintained a wide circle of friends with whom she kept in almost daily contact discussing the affairs of the day, of family and of the neighborhood.

Barbara leaves her husband of forty-five years, Harry Alcorn; her children, Andrew H. Alcorn (Sarah) of Upton and Melissa L. 'Missy' Corcoran (Shane), of Lynn; her granddaughter, Mia 'Squishy' Alcorn; her brothers, Charles Hinckley of Mashpee, Robert Hinckley of Maine, Paul Hinckley of Reading and Walter Hinckley of Waltham; her brother-in-law, Greg Alcorn of Winchester and several nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, August 29th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
