Mrs. Barbara J. (Reardon) Faro, died on August 25, 2021 in Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 81.
Barbara was born in Boston on May 5, 1940, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Ryan) Reardon. She lived in Brighton for a time before moving with her family to Waltham. She was a graduate Waltham High School and later earned her nursing certificate from Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain.
She began her nursing career at Saint John of God Hospital in Brighton and later worked at Windsor House in Cambridge.
A Waltham resident for most of her life she had also lived in Lexington, Atlanta, Georgia and The Villages, Florida. Barbara will long be remembered as a great dancer, talented singer and skilled bridge player.
She was the wife of the late Robert Faro and is survived by her sons, Joseph E. Ryan (James Lonergan) of Salem and James M. Cafarella (Tanya) of Woburn; her grandchildren, Dominic and Ciara Cafarella; her sister, Helen Vanasse (Robert) of Kansas; her sister-in-law Marianne Reardon of Waltham and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late William and Charles Reardon.
Funeral services and burial are private.
