Waltham – Mrs. Barbara A. (Brewster) Burke, of Waltham, died Monday, March 29, 2010 in Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 87.
Barbara was born in Waltham on June 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Irving W. and Greta L. (Purdy) Brewster, and had been a lifelong resident. Until her retirement she worked as a secretary for the Raytheon Company.
Barbara was the wife of the late John A. ‘Tusko’ Burke and the sister of the late Edith Fulton.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet A. Fitzpatrick and her husband, William Barry, of Lexington and Jean Hetherington and her husband, William, of Concord; her grandchildren, Erin, Sean, and Jason; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial are private.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
