Barbara A. (Anton) Brown, of Waltham, died at her home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. She was 85.
Born June 1, 1941, in Flushing, New York, Barbara was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Hueber) Anton. She was raised in Flushing and attended Hofstra University. She had a long and successful career as a certified public accountant, running the accounting department at the Massachusetts Medical Society for many years before retiring.
She moved to Massachusetts sixty years ago and had been a Waltham resident for the last forty-four years. Barbara was nurturing, understanding, and devoted to her faith. She loved her plants and her garden, knitting and crochet with her knitting group, and her beloved cats.
She leaves her son, William “Bill” Wilson and his wife Jenna of Waltham; and her brother, John Anton and his wife Diane of Arizona; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence “Larry” Anton and his wife Mary Ann, and William Anton and his wife Andrea.
Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, on Wednesday, September 16th at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
