Anne G. Sheehan

Waltham - Mrs. Anne G. (McParland) Sheehan, of Waltham, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at her home. She was 88.

Anne was born in Boston on July 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Owen and Anne (O'Connor) McParland, and was raised in Cambridge where she was a 1945 graduate of Cambridge Latin School.

A Waltham resident since 1965 she worked as an instructional aide in the media centers of several Waltham public schools. She had been a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross. In retirement she and her husband enjoyed traveling around the region and the country . . . frequents visits to Rockport were a favorite.

The wife of the late Joseph L. Sheehan, she leaves her children, David M. Sheehan of Gloucester, Robert J. Sheehan and Anne V. Emerton, both of Waltham; her grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly and RJ Sheehan and Stephen Emerton; her great-granddaughter Arianna Anderson and her son-in-law Robert Emerton.

She was the sister of the late Charles E. McParland and mother-in-law of the late Sally (Rizzo) Sheehan.

Family and friends will honor and remember Anne's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), WALTHAM, on Tuesday, October 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
