Anna M. Scordino

Belmont - Mrs. Anna M. (Kilcoyne) Scordino died at home on Monday, August 21, 2023 after an illness. She was 92.

Anna was born August 3, 1931 in Boston, the first-born daughter of the late Irish immigrants John and Mary E. (Gannon) Kilcoyne. Raised on Thornton Place in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, she graduated from St. Joseph’s High School and married Roxbury native, Michael R. 'Sonny' Scordino in Saint Joseph’s Church, Roxbury on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1953. They moved to Belmont in 1960 and have remained residents.

Anna worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. Henry Mitcheson at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton for many years. She and her husband Sonny were active at St. Luke’s Parish in Belmont organizing many 'Irish' fundraising dances over the years. 

In addition to her husband of nearly 70 years, she leaves her children, Michael A. Scordino (MaryAnn) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Robert J. Scordino (Amy) of Belmont, Joseph S. Scordino (Stephanie) of Natick and Jennifer A. Svensson (Patrik) of Needham; her grandchildren, Maresa and Michael Scordino, John Robert and Bryan Scordino, Samantha Heffernan (Mark), Joseph Scordino (Bianca), Suzanne Brown (Patrick), Anthony Scordino (Michelle), Dominic and Thomas Scordino, Nils Svensson; her great-grandchildren, Declan, Gemma Grace, Gwenyth, Anthony, Bear, Blaise, Aidan, Michael, and Ronan; her sister, Nora Theresa Burns of Hingham and the late John J. Kilcoyne of Swampscott; numerous nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Anna’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, August 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to The Church of Saint Luke, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Saint Michael’s Mausoleum in Roslindale.
