Waltham— Mrs. Anna L. (Riley) Paschal, of Waltham, died peacefully in the comfort of her home Sunday, August 7, 2022, one week after celebrating her 75th birthday.
After five years and numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, Anna succumbed to her battle with metastatic lung cancer late Sunday evening surrounded by loved ones. Her braveness through her diagnosis was inspiring.
A daughter of the late Anna Louise (Pearson) (Keough) Riley and William Riley, Anna was born on July 31, 1947 in Cambridge and was raised in Brighton. When Anna was a young girl she met the love of her life, Walter H. Paschal of Boston's Back Bay, at a YMCA dance. They later married on January 9, 1965 and had been Waltham residents for over 45 years.
The two spent many summers at Wadleigh Falls Campground and never missed their grandchildren's sporting events. In her final days, Anna reminisced about the dances and how much she missed her husband who passed away in 2019. Walter and Anna are now reunited and dancing once again.
Anyone who knew Anna knew her contagious smile, warm heart and her caring soul. She will be missed deeply.
Anna is predeceased by her brothers, the late James Keough and Robert Keough.
She leaves her sons Walter H. Paschal (Stephanie) of Holden and Thomas G. Paschal (Joan) of Waltham; her grandchildren Steven Cobb (Stephanie), Courtney Paschal, Abigail and Logan Paschal; her great-grandchildren, Ellis and Theodore Cobb; and her siblings, Stephen Keough, Kathleen Carney, Michael Riley, Terry Riley, Susan Riley Manini, and Laurie Riley and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Anna are private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anna's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org)
