Anna M. (Sera) Cerrone

SHREWSBURY - Anna ‘Ann’ M. (Sera) Cerrone, of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. She was 96.

Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years to the late Albert J. ‘Al’ Cerrone († July 2, 2007).

She leaves her sons, Alan J. Cerrone and his wife Linda of Mt. Airy, Maryland, David P. Cerrone and his wife Judy of Port St Lucie, Florida and Paul A. Cerrone and his wife Mary Grace of Shrewsbury; She leaves a brother Domenic Sera; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Angela, Christopher, Paul Jr. and Daniel Cerrone, Jennifer Shapiro, and Tara Mueller; her great-grandchildren, Ellyette, Kyllyan, Phoenyx, Anthony and Nicolas, Jacob, Hailey, Rafeal and River; and many nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law, Janet Cerrone.

She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Sera of Florida, and her sister, Louise M. Barbo of Chelmsford, MA and in-laws, Anthony Cerrone, Catherine Lemerise, Natalie Aspero, Helen Tyan, Mary Breault.

She was born in Newton MA, daughter of Nicola & Romana (Gemma) Sera.

Anna graduated from Newton High School in 1946 and had lived in Shrewsbury for over 73 years. She worked part-time for 14 years as a cashier at the Edgemere Drive-In Theater, leaving there in 1972. She then worked full-time at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 18 years, the last 8 years as supervisor of the subrogation department, retiring in 1990.

Anna was a member of St. Anne’s Parish and the Shrewsbury Senior Center. She was a veracious reader and her family was her whole world.

Family and friends will honor Anna’s life at a Morning Wake on Friday, April 24th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
